Different Microdermabrasion Machines Produce Different Result
New microdermabrasion machines are being developed as new techniques are perfected. With microdermabrasion gaining popularity, more researches are being funded to extract better result from the technique. Microdermabrasion techniques focus on removing the outer layers of skin in order to revealed newer and healthier skin beneath. This skin care technique will reduce the appearance of scars, fine lines, and wrinkles on the face, and can also reduce the severity of acne. Currently, there is a multitude of different microdermabrasion machines in use. Generally, these machines cost from a few thousand dollars to about as much as the cost of a small car. To help you understand what to expect; here is a brief description of the different kinds of microdermabrasion machines in use. Crystal-Based Microdermabrasion Machines Most microdermabrasion machines work by blasting at the skin with tiny crystals, which will abrade and peel away the outer layers of skin, after which a vacuum is used to extract the used crystals and dead skin cells away from the face. There are many different types of crystals used for microdermabrasion machines, the most common being corundum crystals. The benefit of corundum microdermabrasion machines is that the crystals have uneven surfaces, making it very abrasive but without allergic reactions. It also has antibacterial properties, which help to prevent the development of acne. There are other crystal microdermabrasion machines, which use materials such as sodium bicarbonate crystals. However, these are not quite as hard and may be less efficient. Many modern microdermabrasion machines offer the option to choose between different types of crystals. The main advantage of using other crystals is that they are less expensive than the corundum crystals. Microdermabrasion Machines Without Crystal Nowadays, there are many microdermabrasion machines, which do not use abrading agent or crystals, are becoming more popular. These type of microdermabrasion machines use a diamond-tipped wand to provide mechanical abrasion. Such a microdermabrasion machine uses rapid minute motions rather than the blasting action of crystals. The hard diamond will slough off the surface of the skin as they vibrate rapidly. Some patients would prefer the use of microdermabrasion machines without crystals, as they are more comfortable for those with sensitive skin. In addition, the microdermabrasion machines without crystals are also supposedly faster to use than the machines with crystals, making them ideal for those who prefer a quick microdermabrasion treatment. While these microdermabrasion machines without crystals are more expensive, the results will be the same as those using crystals. So, if you are deciding on a spa for microdermabrasion treatment, you may want to choose one that uses the microdermabrasion machines that you prefer and the corresponding price that you are prepared to pay.
